Change Management Initiative

Client: Hospice of North Central Florida

Faced with massive change in their industry and internally, the CEO of Hospice of North Central Florida (HNCF) asked the team at Flycaster & Company for help in getting its management team and entire employee base to better understand and embrace the changes necessary to thrive in that difficult environment.

The first step for the F&C team was to get a clear understanding of the opinions and concerns of the top managers at HNCF who would be looked to as change agents throughout the organization. A detailed Team Effectiveness Audit was issued to all senior managers and one-on-one interviews were conducted with top personnel in the organization. This work contributed to the design of an advanced teambuilding workshop and the creation of a unique three-hour seminar on “business excellence” customized specifically for HNCF.

The High Performance Team workshop was delivered to the senior management team over the course of several weeks. The impact was strong, causing many members to become more committed to the new direction of the organization and a few members to leave the organization. One month later, in conjunction with the presentation of a special video on the challenges facing hospice from Jim Collins, author of “Good to Great,” F&C Senior Partner John Spence led three separate training events to deliver the “Excellence” seminar to all 400 HNCF employees at their annual corporate retreat. The response was extremely positive, creating a shared understanding of the elements and attitudes necessary to keep HNCF successful and growing.
